We eagerly anticipate the upcoming Romanian-German Course in April 2024. These courses have proven to be a remarkable success story in terms of education, learning, networking, and socializing.

The focus on neurovascular neurosurgery this year is particularly engaging, as it holds a special place in the hearts of neurosurgeons, albeit often heroized inaccurately. Many pathologies are now being addressed by neuroradiologists, adding complexity to the ongoing debate. The multifaceted nature of treatment demands careful consideration.

We are delighted that numerous Romanian and German experts have once again agreed to share their wealth of experience with all of you. On behalf of the German participants, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Prof. Florian for orchestrating this splendid course anew. We impatiently look forward to coming to Cluj to engage in learning, discussions, networking, and to bask in the warmth of Romanian hospitality.

Dear colleagues and friends,

We could not have imagined back in 1997, when we first organized the Romanian-German course, that the course would keep going year by year for so long. We reach the 27th edition this year. What started as an idea of debating some pressing neurosurgical issues among a few Romanian and German colleagues, in time, has grown into a solid course with much greater visibility and addressability, bringing together experts who debate more and more intriguing questions for the young neurosurgeons to ponder on and learn from.

Neurovascular surgery is the theme of the current edition. It is a complex and challenging pathology that requires an apt approach, a deep understanding of the neurovascular functionality and good timing of treatment. Thus, we are happy to welcome you to a new series of interesting discussions and shared experiences, networking and warm friendship between 18 and 20 April 2024 in the beautiful city of Cluj-Napoca.
